Want a Successful Product? All You Have to do is Hollrr

Hollrr.com is a new social media site that has opened it’s doors recently and has quickly gained a loyal following.

The concept is simple enough. It’s all about discovering and letting people know about great products. These products range from your favorite Twitter app to a inspirational book to a great  brand of coffee.

What happens is that you ”Hollrr” a product that you like and tie a comment and a tag (like #SocialMedia or #iPhoneApp) to it. For this you gain merit badges, like you do on FourSquare or Gowalla.

Besides discovering new products, the real power of Hollrr lies in the fact that you can use it to keep track of new products in your industry as well as follow industry leaders to see what products they are recommending. If you have your a product of your own, you can with ease add this to list of products.

This is an up-and-coming social media platform that shows a lot of potential. Right now it’s a good anf fun website, but it still needs a few online industry heavy weights to make it a powerful site for seriously promoting our businesses. It’s definitely a site that we need to keep an eye out for.

    Great post, Morten. I’m definitely an early adopter, and I have high hopes for Buzz. I wrote my own post about why Buzz is everything I wanted from Twitter but never got. (http://www.techshots.net/2010/02/buzz-is-what-i-wanted-from-twitter/)

    I think that Buzz won’t take USERS from Twitter, but it might take precious time and attention away.
